Participating in an event devoted to "those before" revealed for me a fundamental actuality connected to the dissociation in which we colonials with progeny dwell: we fear that we will be forgotten as we forgot our ancestors...
We belong to nature. Somewhere along the lines our roots were abandoned. We dwell not where they dwelt. Walk not where they walked. Ate not where they ate. Pissed not where they pissed. Shit not shat.
We seek connection and we feel abandoned but it is they who were abandoned.
In our search we can strive to discover the union of all things. In so doing our fears may be allayed.
